A Workshop to Identify Lessons Learned from the San Joaquin Valley Affordable Energy Pilot in Support of Targeted Building Electrification and Gas System Decommissioning

Date: September 15, 2021

Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm PDT

Meeting Objectives

  • To identify what barriers to participation customers faced in participating in the San Joaquin Valley Affordable Energy Pilot
  • Consider how barriers to customer participation in electrification programs should inform efforts to decommission sections of the gas delivery system

Scope:

  • Participants in this workshop have a shared interest in overcoming barriers to participation in electrification programs. This workshop offers a critical first step toward that end, identifying the barriers. Future Gridworks workshops will focus on developing solutions.
  • Some barriers to participation (e.g., economic insecurity) are structural. Such barriers are in scope, even if overcoming those barriers may be beyond the scope of programs aiming to support customer participation.
