Distributed Energy Resources Research Roadmap Public Workshop – Hosted by Gridworks
September 17 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm UTC-7
Gridworks is excited to be working with the California Energy Commission and Navigant Consulting in the development of the DER Research Roadmap. This meeting is the second in a series of public workshops to allow the distributed energy resources community to inform research priorities for the California Energy Commission’s EPIC program. By leveraging the deep experience of the community, this Roadmap seeks to identify early stage technology and ideas that will help California achieve its climate goals.
Building off of the input from public stakeholders in our initial workshops to identify the most salient and relevant DER Research Needs, this workshop will revolve around further refining the identified needs, and assessing the Screening Process and Research Roadmap methodology that has been employed in he process so far. The end goal of the project is to produce a Research Roadmap to direct future CEC study, and this workshop will be the first in a three-part series of workshop to prioritize DER research recommendations for the CEC’s consideration. A few key questions that we will be addressing are:
- What trends are we seeing in the identified needs and the results of the prioritization surveys issued to TAC members?
- Of the identified Research Needs, which are the most urgent? Which have the greatest value add to future research?
This workshop provides a great opportunity for feedback on the identified research needs as well as the prioritization and screening process.
